Island Grove Winery at Formosa Gardens is excited to announce our upcoming grand opening in September, 2017. The winery is ideally located just off US Highway 192 next to numerous luxury vacation rental communities, Formosa Gardens Village restaurants and shopping center, and near the Clarion Suites Maingate. Nestled in Osceola County near the Four Corners area, it’s only 3 miles from Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The new winery at Formosa Gardens is a partnership between the Formosa Gardens team and the largest organic blueberry grower in Florida: Island Grove Wine Company in Hawthorne.
The main building features over 13,000 square feet of versatile venue space, including bridal and groom suites, a theater, and 3,000 square feet of meeting space, making it perfect for weddings, private events, or business needs.
Dining options include a fresh bakery and bistro serving “from the farm to the table” dishes daily. Wine and beer tastings across multiple bar spaces and daily tours of the winery and the gardens will be available. In addition, Wine Emotion tasting machines will showcase some of the finest wines from around the world. Find the perfect gift for any occasion with a large selection of award-winning Island Grove fruit wines, or a variety of unique and exclusive merchandise.
Future plans include making and hand bottling high-end blueberry ice wine, blueberry port, and mead from honey produced onsite. We will also offer food pairing tastings, wine tasting classes, gardening classes, educational seminars, conferences, and festival celebrations.
The winery grounds, also called The Gardens at Formosa, consist of vineyards, orchards, vegetable gardens, nurseries, hydroponics, an apiary, and outdoor event venues. Much research for sustainable, organic and biodynamic agricultural practices will be conducted in the Gardens at Formosa in collaboration with the University of Florida in Gainesville, and the Rosen Hospitality School of UCF. Other research areas will include Florida fruits and native plants, agri-tourism, agricultural pest and disease control, and water conservation techniques.
We invite you to join us and let our talented, dedicated, and knowledgeable team provide you with an unforgettable experience at the Island Grove Winery at Formosa Gardens.
