NOVEMBER / DECEMBER CALENDAR OF EVENTS AT SIDNEY & BERNE DAVIS ART CENTER

November
Friday, November 3, 2017 • City of Palms
Back in the 1920’s Fort Myers nurseryman, James E. Hendry proposed that the city be nicknamed “The City of Palms”, and so we got our official slogan. This November the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center hosts four local artists to interpret this slogan through a photographic exhibition. Dennis Church, Lawrence Massing, Roy Rodriguez, and Sandra Yeyati have been collaborating on this idea for two years. Each artist will display 30 images depicting their unique vision of the diverse symbolism of this ubiquitous tree, and perhaps to explore why this iconic plant has become a symbol for paradise.
